If you interact with Stefan following the procriptions for insisting on consistancy, on reality being the final judge of truth, of monitoring your own emotions as a guide, being diplomatic but insistant in confrontations so that you may "obtain emotional certainty" about the other person, and to leave behind those who are not treating you with integrety, you will eventually leave FDR behind.

Isn't one of the main points of libertarianism to respect one another's autonomy? In theory, shouldn't libertarians be avoiding pushing their ideas on others, but instead respecting the rights of everyone to have their own ideas? This is the contradiction in the fdr community that turned me off. I would think that others involved in that particular community would eventually notice this.

Disagreement is not an infringement upon one's "right" to think as they choose.

Neither is manipulation.

What about banning people who disagree with you? I guess that is Stef's right because it's his site, but is that demonstrating respect for the rights of others to have their own opinions? Maybe......maybe not. You could say he respects those right. Just not in his presence. Hmmmm.

The same way I respect the "rights" of racists, mysogonysts, communists, and many others to have their beliefs. Do you choose to associate with people you find distasteful? That would seem to be a disrespect for your own "rights" of forming your own beliefs and uning them to enhanse your life.

Hmmmm....interesting response.

Just because I choose to peacefully coexist in a world with people who have beliefs that I don't share, does not mean that I allow the beliefs of others to affect my own.

Just like on this website. You and I may not share the same beliefs. You are free to say whatever you like. I am free to say whatever I like. No harm done. We may not agree, but that does not ruin my day. It's all fine. I do not wish you to leave. I hear what you say. We wish one another well and move on. That's respect I think. No biggie.
