PSV will have a hard time even becoming runner-up in the Eredivisie.

Ilengarp, why do you say that? To be sure there is lots of play, playfulness and funny stuff on LM. All this has a value in and of itself--but it's also one way we get to know each other...

When you say "What a load of..." are you reflecting much following of topics, threads, etc?-- or did you get put off by a particular thing or more?

Can you tell us how and why you came to LM?

As opposed to the well thought out, nuanced and intellectually sophisticated offerings you've made thus far? Why not engage in a little conversation, instead of drive-by mud flinging? Cantankerousness will certainly be tolerated (up to a point), but some background and context would be appreciated. In short, I ask: "What's your deal, man?"

PostSubject: The cruelty is the point.   Wed Feb 18, 2009 9:50 pm

It strikes me as a cruel way of lashing out at the people you no longer wish to associate with. As if it's not enough to stop spending time or contacting them, but you have to let them know that, hey, I don't like you anymore. I wouldn't go through such a process with a friend that I no longer wished to be around, so why would I do it to people who ostensibly care a great deal about me?

That is the most indefensible component of defooing. It is terrilby cruel. And to your point, completely unecessary. It shows no virtue and to me is the defining aspect of the Molyneux influence.

PostSubject: My happiness is the point   Thu Feb 19, 2009 12:43 am

If you're addressing me (the original poster), I'll defend my actions. What specifically did you think was cruel? Telling my parents what made me unhappy, in an effort to patch things up? Telling my parents not to contact me? Or simply the act of not talking to them? What did I do, specifically, that was cruel?
