the tedious copy-paste the URL ... FF is very tweakable. To change

Apologies if this has been discussed elsewhere on LiMi, but the nature of my problem is precisely what's keeping me from finding it if it has been!

What am I doing wrong in using the forum "Search", that when I get the Google results and click on the link that was what I was searching to find, rather than opening that specific thread, the LiMi Index page opens every time instead?

The ignore button would not prevent my accidentally looking at someone else's response to an ignored person, but it would help, I think. There's too much good value here to have it be destroyed by hateful trolls.

I'd like to subscribe to RSS feeds of the sections or forums so I can receive feeds containing new posts (or, at least, new topics). I notice that the main page for Liberating Minds has an RSS feed, but it seems to be only the "Welcome To New Users" forum - not even the entire "Welcome" section. And I cannot find RSS feeds for any other sections or forums. Does anyone know about this?

I'm trying to gather my writings from the last 5 years or so. A lot of that is in forums.

I could just link things, but I'd like to archive these things as well, so I'm looking for an easy way to quote forum discussions and paste these quotes into non-forum software.

I do think I could write a perl script to do this, but I was wondering if anyone had other ideas? Maybe there is some script out there already to handle this?

The main problem arises when grabbing forum text that has ...

the chatroom on the site is quite basic: for example when you are alone in the chat room it doesn't tell you (through a sound or a pop-up or whatever) when somebody else has entered the room so that you have to keep on checking if somebody has come in. also, there is no way to save chat sessions, and you have to be registered to even see it, let alone join.

would it be an idea to 'outsource' both of the chat rooms, text and voice, to another site, to create a text and voice chatroom on ...

New (though primitive) feature: Google Search

Since the standard 'search' function of the site is, frankly, crap, I just created a GoogleSearch function in the portal. True enough, it looks horrible and ad hoc, but it does get the job done.

Anyway, I know next to nothing about coding and so on, so if anybody can suggest how to improve the looks and functionality then please let me know.

It would for example be better if instead of having to click on the link you could just immediately fill in your search term in the portal itself.

the reason that you cant embed video is that Forumotion doesnt allow it because of possible copyright infringements. If a video that is copyrighted is posted, I risk losing the forum.

As administrator, do you have the ability to configure the emails that the forum automatically sends when a new topic is posted or replied to? Currently, the emails merely say "Topic X was replied to." It would be more convenient if it said "Topic X was replied to by Joe Shmoe." Sometimes forums even offer the ability to submit the entire new post within the email body.
