| dudes and dudettes, I was thinking about doing a Skype-call about FDR as a sort of closure-kinf-of-talk. I think I have sort of snapped out of the obsession recently (last week anyway) and i thought it might be cool and interesting to talk with some other former FDR'ers about our experiences with FDR and turn it into a podcast. sort of a grande finale kind of thing. lemme know if you're interested. the talk would be somewhere after next Wednesday, depending on who is available when |

That could be worth exploring. I have a story that might be a good trigger for such a discussion.
Not to say that talking about FDR isn't good, but if we broaden it to your more general idea I think we'll get that personal flavor that will make a podcast tasty listening.
I should be around next week too. _________________ If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

| why not focus more on the future--where we want our lives to go and what sorts of people we want to have close? Dwelling on hurts = bad. We all have bad apples in our past, but hanging in that space is NOT gonna make a brighter future. |

Duly noted, however, I still have to see mine every other weekend (doggie visitation) and pay her $250 a month (for credit cards SHE RAN UP!!! but I am legally responsible in this joint property state, even though the accounts were opened, solely in her name, prior to our marriage) so she is not really in my past. I wish she was, but she's not. |

Dyl, I'm not presuming to know what's best for you, but here are some possible ideas.
Harry Browne said in How I Found Freedom In An Unfree World something to the effect of "everything has its cost." If you have made an agreement and you no longer want to honor that agreement, there is some cost which the person you agreed with will accept to allow you out of the agreement. Determine the cost, and then decide which is more valuable to you: staying in the agreement, or paying the cost to get out.
In the case of your ex (again, I know nothing - I'm just making general suggestions) can you negotiate a one time payment so you do not need to pay monthly any more? Can you negotiate with her (not her lawyer or some state agency) so she'll accept your offer and stop harnessing the power of the state against you? Can you offer to have a "doggie escrow," where she drops the dog off with a third party and you visit or pick the dog up from this third party (to avoid having to communicate with your ex)? |

| This book, "How I Found Freedom In An Unfree World " - do you know if this book is available in e-book format? I looked up at amazon and all editions are from 1974 and pretty pricey.. |
