Molyneux does his level headed best and speaks of the Guardian reasonably.
Stef's primary concern is Tom and he clarifies that at the onset. He begins by reading the Guardian article and then his response. He is grateful they posted his quote and clarified his point of view. To my surprise he even acknowledges the pain of the mother, let's not forget what she must be going through!
Stef remains composed even appearing somewhat removed from the subject and leads a fairly chipper podcast.
No doubt this podcast is for Guardian readers and posted for easy access.
Only one caller in the call in speaks up! He wonders why the Guardian would find this important to do such an article. Stef cautions the readership is old people and well we all know how fearful they are of the internet, he continues on fear mongering and journalism.
He talks about working on your relationships for a moment. Then addressing his impression of the guardian readership, compares a time when a woman leaving and divorcing her husband was taboo to one's child defooing his family. After all using that comparison changes ones perspective and it isn't odd at all. After all the husbands take care of them financially, put a roof over their heads and feed and clothe the wives. -

He then councils a caller(Nathan) on dealing with his Cats in the morning as they are annoying. They are interrupting his thinking time. Stef takes the opportunity and humanizes himself with a ditty on his wife and his daily worries. He states something along the lines that they do this because they love you, are hungry and want to be with you. The lesson being if you know what to expect don't set your self up for failure. Feed the cats then think. Rather than thinking about the cat's interrupting your thinking time and then not thinking at all. It's counter productive. How wise!( I guess he really does care about Tom after all).
Perhaps, he is rethinking things somewhat, though he would not admit to any of the absolutes in his defoo regime.
Correction: perhaps his strategy was to humanize himself.
The good news is the severity of his defoo message has changed for now or ever and he may just revise his lesson book.
correction: both Greg's also chimed in, however I don't recall which question was whos.
