I ran across this quote by Nathaniel Branden that seemed particularly appropriate for strict adherents of the principles of Molyneux and FDR:

"The Benefits and Hazards of the Philosophy of Ayn Rand" (1984)

Journal of Humanistic Psychology24

Branden says that adherence to Objectivism can result in hazardous psychological effects. Branden accused Rand and her followers of "destructive moralism", which he claims "subtly encourages respression, self alienation, and guilt."

Nathaniel Brandon is easily the best of the Objectivist core, which is probably why they disowned him (or he disowned them).

Branden is well respected at FDR, but this particular quote could have been talking specifically about them. I am now interested in reading more of Branden's writings critical of Rand's inner circle (which he was a part of and left).

Quoted article on this website. Click on heading "Ayn Rand and Objectivism". Fascinating! FDR has so much in common with the original Rand community.
