So y'all may not have known, but when it comes to my blog, I'm a total stats junkie. There aren't that many people who read my blog, and most of the traffic comes from people who stumbled across a link to the site somewhere or found it in a Google search. But nevertheless, there's no greater pleasure for me than popping open my Google Analytics and seeing what people read the day before.

And so it was that I discovered this morning that yesterday, I got four hits from Stefan's site, and another has already come in today. This was notable for two reasons. First, since the new year, I had only received three other hits from the site; people simply don't come to my site from Stefan's very often. But secondly, the other three hits had come from threads in which I participated; these five new hits came from somewhere called "CuteSoft_Client/CuteChat/Channel.Aspx," which seems like the product of some kind of actual conversation.

I'm somewhat hesitant to make a big deal about this, because it's undoubtedly not anything significant. But I'm sort of amused at the possibility that trouble is brewing in paradise, and figured you guys would eat this sort of thing up

Can you see what they were viewing on your site? Were people going from FDR to your UPB posts?

The CuteSoft_Client/CuteChat/Channel.Aspx is probably the realtime chat available on FDR. I speculate that someone posted a link to your page as a reference in the discussion they was participating in and all four people present in the chat went to your site to read.

Hi there! I created an account just to post here. You guys were following my blog a few months ago during all the FDR duh-rama, and I've been keeping up with your site pretty often since. But this thread I found today cracked me up. I too am a stats whore, and saw a weird spike in my numbers the other day. Turns out a post of mine had been replicated and linked to in an FDR thread started by Molyneux himself! In the Gold+ forum of all places!

It was called "ew." I talked about being a stats whore with a rash, which was true. I did have a rash. It has since cleared up. And it was a gross rash--scabies. Don't worry... you can't catch it online.

It's the second time I've been directly linked to; one other time was in a post by FDR member nexalacer. I also got a hit from their chat room, too.

We stats whores take what business we can get, right? Right?
