So Zeb and I went to the Biodome in Montreal and except for the wonderfully industrious and charming beavers we were severely disappointed: The otters were nowhere to be found; they use hundreds of birds and fish as fillers; there was a severe shortage of funny monkeys; and the lynxes just stared back at us instead of performing.
Anyway, because half the time in a zoo you go like 'Where's the monkey/tiger/otter/whatever? Is that it, there in the tree? No, that's just a trunk. That there, over by the rock? No, that's just another rock. Hey, I saw something move over there!Nah, it's just another stupid bird? Hey, those people are pointing over there, could the otters be there? Where the frig are they pointing? I can't see!'
Anyway, you get the picture. So I was thinking, it would be hella cheap to start a zoo, get some of the simple, boring animals such as fish, llama's, and so on, and then have like areas where you plant a lot of trees, put a lot of rocks and sand and what not and
just say that there is a cheetah or gorilla or whatever. Have the sign with all the info about the animal supposedly in there and when people can't see it, just say that it must be hiding, resting somewhere. Hell, you could fake having a zoo full of the most extraordinary creatures and people wouldn't know you had little more than a bunch of llama's
Montreal is quite nice btw, nice architecture, old stuff, water, parks, the works. Qua prettiness it sure beats Toronto
