Intoxication is a great old book, and it details a whole lot of animal drug use from the discovery of coffee by watching goats to cows eating locoweed to catnip addled felines.

The word "lemur" comes from the ancient Greek and when translated means "NonEntity"...

(he does this sort of thing all the time, especially the "rub it all over his body"-- though not always while high up in trees)

I'll have to read that sometime Smile thanks. i guess i felt like this video was a little special since lemurs are non domesticated animals. i could see the likelyhood of drug use in animals domesticated by humans increased, since humans intervene. i also like how the lemur uses the insect as a drug as well as a pesticide and made that discovery on its own. i didnt know about goats finding coffee thats pretty sweet Very Happy

The book, despite my 3 examples, details a great deal of wild animal drug use. Off the top of my head, the drunken monkeys who eat fermented melons and terrorize nearby villages, or small birds gorging themselves on holly berries and getting trashed enough to fly into walls.

Animals are also sexually rather deviant, by human standards. Group sex, circle jerks, mutual masturbation, homosexuality, etc. are all seen in animals. It makes sense, because the pleasure we feel from orgasm is an inducement to the behavior, we humans know what happens in the long term, though. Animals don't necessarily know that, they just think it feels great, and later, they have a litter. Well, maybe they do and maybe they don't, but I doubt there is any moralizing going on, whether they wanna get high, get laid or both.

Rub what? Huh? Say, where do you get this stuff? How much do you have to rub? Can you rub too much? (I know that last one sounds like a silly question, but, well... never mind, forget I asked it.)
