PostSubject: Anthony de Jasay on Justice, Rights and Liberties   Fri Dec 12, 2008 12:31 pm

I only have this PC for a couple of days, I'll try to respond to some other posts...but I thought I'd post an article by Anthony de Jasay which greatly reflects my own thoughts as to the nature of "justice" as well as the current incoherence in libertarian theories about justice, law and liberty. I recommend reading his articles at the Library of Economics and Liberty, as well as whatever else you can find of his. Being akin to both Austrian (of a Haayekian veign) and Public Choice, De Jasay uses economics as well philosophy and history to cut through much of the muck surrounding current ideas and, in my opinion, is one of the all-around best political economists I know of.

Money is inextricably tied to the concept of law and justice.
Money and justice are two sides of the same coin.

There is no law and no justice without real money. Only gold and silver coin are real money.

Real law is inextricably tied to real money.

No money = no justice.
