The same form of reasoning applies to AIDS, global warmingcooling change, cholesterol, terrorism... speaking of which, there was an excellent interview of John Feffer by Scott Horton HERE (mp3).
Quote:
John Feffer, co-director of Foreign Policy In Focus, discusses a Jeffersonian-era U.S. navy suicide attack against Barbary pirates, the Western tradition of self-sacrifice for a “greater good,” how suicide attacks are usually a desperate tactic taken against foreign occupation and not exclusive to Islam and the inability of Western claims of moral superiority to withstand scrutiny.
And of course Robert Pape's studies apply as well.

Mocking religious creationists is so passé-- like shooting dromedaries in a 10x10 fenced pen.
I prefer to go after the secular humanist creationists with their "gender is a social construct; race is a social construct; ____ is a social construct," nonsense-- especially since these people are often the ones mocking creationism, yet refusing to admit biology effects humans the same way it effects other species, unless of course, in a particular instance acknowledging biology would fit with their political views (i.e. homosexuality is the only thing not caused by environmental influence).
Let's take one quote from the video though:
Quote:
People can't think for themselves and they get so confused about reality. That's why people are willing to believe anything a scientist will tell them.
Pretty much true. Most people don't understand the scientific method, the maths needed to understand the statistics they spout off to support their political views, etc.

Atheists are funny, and I say this as an atheist. Honestly, going after "pop" religion, and patting yourself on the back as an intellectual? Should Hayden continually attack Brittney Spears artistic merit and be praised as a visionary for doing so?
I doubt most "atheists" could put up a real challenge to a serious Apostolic Church theologian if the definitions were set. I doubt most "atheists" realize they are nothing more than a Protestant following the Reformation tradition. Secular Humanism is far more interesting to go after (and a lot less complex than something like the Eastern Orthodox Church) due to it being fashionable.
"Our atheists are such pious people." Max Stirner
Indeed.

So, since there's a calling for it how about this little gem. This is a humanist proving beyond doubt that humanists have a WICKED sense of humour. If you're not on the floor crying with laughter after these then clearly there's something wrong with you!!! You'll be watching this again and again. Imagine the fun you'd have at a party being surrounded by fifty of these! I'd be having the time of my life!!!
