I would be even more interested to know, assuming that the study is correct, why would ladies, both young and old, bow down to the man given that Moly blames Mum's for a whole host of abuse.?
Why would you do that? especially as it is likely that you may well become a Mum yourself one day, indeed some of you may all ready be.
Why bow and scrape (send money) to someone who seemingly loathes women yet is married (hypocritically) to one?.

There have been several occasions when I have been out and about with just my Mother and we have run into a situation whereby my Mother was on the receiving end of someones bad attitude. Maybe my Mother was in the wrong on such occasions but I would not let her be subject to such outbursts and have had to gently remind the offender of my presence, even as a minor I would do this.
When someone offends my Mother or Father I consider this a very personal matter and that the person is in effect offending me also.
Perhaps it's a question of pride but my parents belong to me and I to them and I consider it my duty to defend them.
Equally then Cassandra as you say above, my sentiments also.

Ha, in writing the above I may have answered my own question ( although not connected with the initial topic of this post) of why absent family members involved with fdr defend it so.
The answer was there staring me in the face all along and I just had not seen it and I guess they don't either. Has the site then in effect become their 'surrogate' family and they in return defend it from their real family that they believe has abused them?, just as I defend our family from those that would offend us, at least those that I still can.

Unfortunately Jawol, you are exactly right. Fdr is the family, and they are loyal to that family at all costs, defending it against all outsiders (including the "outsiders" that used to be their families). This is very sad.

Please pardon the double post. I feel as if I mis-spoke by saying the "outsiders that used to be their families". The fact is that most of the families left behind by those who have defood by choice, still consider themselves very much to be the families of the defooer. It is so sad that these families have been replaced (in the mind of the defooer) by a group on the internet.
