QuestEon,

Thank you! After watching fdr for some time now, it is fascinating to see how defensive Molyneux really is. Isn't it amazing that the only members of the community who really stick it out long term seem to be those who are able to consistently manage to shine Molyneux's boots, and to never ruffle his feathers? But what of his personal road to self improvement? Most of us live in a world where we learn to deal with constructive suggestions for personal improvement. In most cases we learn to appreciate those suggestions, as we know that in those suggestions we have opportunities to better ourselves.

Perhaps there is no need to better oneself if one already considers oneself on the same par as Darwin (?).

QuestEon,

I actually did go over to your latest post and start reading it. I must say, I agree with the praise everyone has given you for your writing. Kudos! But I also was not able to read more than about a third of it because, well, I just don't give a flying fuck about that sick bastard and those who so desperately want his approval. It's abuse, pure and simple, and why wallow in it. S&M, as it were.

First, thank you!

I think your position on this is perfectly OK.

I don't know if I'd personally go so far as to say that I don't care about Molyneux but I would say that the main point of my site is selfish--it's me learning to be a better writer. I think it's nice to have a controversial topic, and one that I have to research and figure out how to present. And I am cetainly intrigued by the guy. I get more motivation from the fact that I like the people here and I'm interested in what they have to say than from any dislike of him.

I had some hazy notion when I started throwing articles up that FDR Liberated could be a single-point resource for people who wanted a streamlined introduction to FDR. But I also wondered if my reach exceeded my grasp.

Since then, I've gotten pms here and at gmail from people who are using FDR Liberated for that purpose so I feel pretty good about that. I would keep working on the site for that alone, I guess. It gets back to the Cassandra question--if you knew a bully was out there, would you say anything about it?

It's a fun mental exercise for me to try to figure out exactly why Molyneux is wrong when he is and then try to explain it. I'm not the brightest bulb on the tree and it's a good exercise for me. That's pretty much it.

Yeah, incredible. Imagine if someone went to FDR saying, "who cares that you can't prove God, or that God makes no sense? Ever since I started believing, my life has totally improved!". Would Molyneux call this good philosophy?

Woohoo! Well said...well said. Such a double standard that hypocrite Molyneux has.

cheers

Seems I have a dilemma named after me!

The trick is to offer "food" to those in need without feeding the "beast" or wallowing, while being able to make the menu unpalatable to the predator. This is not easy to do.

I think that the spade series has succeeded in showing that an unwillingness to admit to error results in self deception/manipulation which results in a disordered mind. At best this leads to self limitation while overreaching, at worst to totalitarian type control. This then results in many red herrings and traps for the unwary that take a painstaking analysis to sort and clarify. Those who have uncritically embraced the ideas of "freedumb" would do well to consider what all the other tyrants, from petty to large have initially promised at the start.

I would not sell youself short over your intelligence. I hope that out of this s*** will grow a continuing analysis of ideas that transcend the antics of attention seeking internet opportunists and are shown in the context they belong in.

Cassandra - You are on a roll this morning. I have to say that my favorite is:

"Those who have uncritically embraced the ideas of 'freedumb' would do well to consider what all the other tyrants, from petty to large have initially promised at the start."

Yes! Priceless! Fabulous! Thank you.

Very Happy cheers Very Happy cheers

Wow Questeon, that is one hell of a 2-part post. I missed the events in question but have enjoyed catching up via your epic post. Your site looks amazing these days. Thanks.
