Just
an article I found refreshing in that here is a psychiatrist, in the army, actually being human about PTSD and a scientist about 'what works':
If you don't want to read it, I'll ask a question instead: If a soldier returns with PTSD and develops alcoholism and/or other destructive addictions, how do you treat them?
Do you:
1. Clean up the drunk, then deal with the trauma that caused the drinkin'? or
2. Tolerate the drunk client and just go right ahead into the PTSD treatment, knowing full well that the strong emotional overwhelm will like provoke more drinking?
